In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK to deliver a speech at the Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to travel that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed my talk I doubt I can catch the plane we are heading to the airport".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a gulf air departing at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an excellent assistant".

These messages were published on Wednesday together with over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's name is withheld. Media outlets managed to establish his identity by matching the timeline, events, and places mentioned.

For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the messages, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and gave the talk at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, did not reply on the inquiry.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of Trump's key advisers in the lead-up to the presidential election and in the early days of his presidency, but stepped down from the administration in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a film about Epstein before his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his show recently, he said: "We're going to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile occasionally appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A few days prior to the conversation in which Epstein seemed to arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r pretty good assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you're taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The published messages also show Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in 2018.

On the same day his address at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit issue this day with Nigel, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the time, he continued: "They are trying to proceed. May today / tomorrow…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "In my view remaining as long as you can in the UK. Ideal- so others see the commitment of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa May remain in power". Bannon answered: "I don't see how however the people over here have no balls" and added "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was eventually toppled in May 2019 after withstanding two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK informed the BBC: "Farage has not been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter occurred.

The Congress will decide next week on whether the Department of Justice should release all its files concerning its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was reignited recently after the release of more than 20,000 pages from his estate.

A portion of those mentioned Trump, who has repeatedly rejected any impropriety. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
